May 3 – 6

I hope everyone had a great 4-day weekend!  We have a short week this week which means some blocks will have fewer classes.

Lesson 1 (A, C, F) These classes will start the week with a mini lesson on in-text citation that will help them to complete their persuasive essay that is the assessment for both English and Social Studies.  They will be persuading the reader about how their redrawn map of Africa will better at avoiding conflict than the current political map of Africa.

Lesson 1 (G & H) – These two classes only had one lesson last week so their first lesson will be time for them to complete their new map of Africa.  It needs to be photographed and uploaded to Google Classroom before the end of the lesson.

Lesson 2 (G & H) – This lesson will start with a mini lesson on in-text citation that will help them to complete their persuasive essay that is the assessment for both English and Social Studies.  They will be persuading the reader about how their redrawn map of Africa will better at avoiding conflict than the current political map of Africa.

Lesson 2 (A & C) – Kahoot about CNN Student News will start off the lesson.  Then we will spend the rest of the class working on their persuasive essay that will be due next week either Tuesday or Wednesday (depending on when their English class is).

Lesson 2 (F) – These students will have an extra day in order to work on their essay.  They can use class time to edit, revise and continue writing.

Lesson 3 (F, G & H) – Kahoot about CNN Student News will start off the lesson.  Then we will spend the rest of the class working on their persuasive essay that will be due next week either Tuesday or Wednesday (depending on when their English class is).

For your information, we have another long weekend coming up.  School will be closed Monday, May 9.  If you are traveling, have a safe trip!  And if you’re staying here, I hope you have a relaxing 3 day break!
